Employees of SRC shall strive to maintain high standards of competence in their work. They recognize the boundaries and limitations of their expertise. Using only those services and techniques for which they are qualified by education, training or experience, employees will recognize the need for ongoing education to maintain knowledge of relevant professional information related to the services they render. SRC will make available the use of scientific, professional, technical, and administrative resources toward that end.
Employees of SRC will seek to promote integrity in the practice of rehabilitative services. In this pursuit, employees will be honest, fair, and respectful of others. They shall not make statements or conduct themselves in ways that misrepresent themselves, their qualifications, or the organization.
Employees of SRC will consult with, refer to, and cooperate with other professionals and institutions to the extent needed to serve the best interest of the patients. Employees will be concerned with the ethical compliance of their colleagues and consult with them to prevent or avoid unethical conduct.
Employees of SRC must protect and promote the rights, dignity, health, and safety of the person served and others. They will respect the rights to privacy, confidentiality, and individual differences as related to age, sex, race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, disability, etc. Employees will not knowingly participate in or support discriminatory practices or biases.
Employees of SRC will respect the law and strive to contribute to the welfare of those whom they interact professionally avoiding or minimizing any type of harm. They will not mislead or exploit the person served or others during or after the professional relationship.
Employees of SRC must be concerned about and work
toward improving the quality of life for the persons served. SRC
recognizes and supports the financial burden and civic responsibility
to participate in activities, which will benefit the community and
improve rehabilitative services.
SRC will inform as early as possible the person served the compensation
and billing arrangements. SRC will not exploit or misrepresent fees
and will follow laws consistently. If anticipated financial limitations
may require limited services, this will be discussed with the person
served as early as possible. If payment does not occur as agreed
and the person served has been made aware with sufficient time given
collection efforts can be made. Direct service providers shall not
accept payment or monetary gifts from a person served. SRC will
not withhold records solely due to nonpayment.
SRC will have a primary obligation to take reasonable precautions to uphold confidentiality. Employees shall only discuss confidential information without consent only for appropriate scientific or professional purposes directly related to the facility or when permitted by law for a valid purpose.
Each employee provides a service only within the boundaries of their competence based on their individual education/ training/experience and undertake ongoing efforts to maintain their competence. Delegation of tasks would only be given to those employees who hold the competence to complete that task. Each employee also abides by the code of ethics of their own discipline.
Advertising or other public statements (include but are not limited to paid or unpaid advertising, directory listings, interviews, resumes, lectures, brochures) made by employees must take reasonable precautions to ensure that they are not false, deceptive, or misleading.
Solicitation of patients shall not be directed when the party is known to be vulnerable to influence and informed. Informed consent will be obtained from the patient using language that is reasonably understandable. Termination of services will occur when the referring physician recommends discharge as it becomes reasonably clear that the patient no longer needs the service, is not benefiting, not compiling with, or is being harmed.
